I’m always excited when Friday comes around because it’s the beginning of the weekend with opportunities to turn-up or rest, whichever rocks your boat. Also, because I get to dress down or a bit more casually than the other days of the week.
When picking out my Friday outfit, what’s important to me is that I choose a transitional outfit…something I can wear to work and also wear out later in the evening if I decide to hang out with friends. Denim to me is that perfect transitional piece.
Worn with a midi skirt or with its best friend, denim pants, the denim shirt is the perfect way to look casually dressed up on a Friday. Open up the buttons and roll-up the sleeves at the close of work for a less formal look in the evening.
Because denim unintentionally adds a casual look to any outfit it’s paired with, throw in a pair of heels and your look safely retains enough smartness to be work-appropriate. Some organizations may frown at bare arms in the workplace; a cardigan or casual slouchy blazer will work magic here.
If you’re not denim crazy and haven’t ventured past denim pants into other denim territory (dresses, shirts, bags, chokers), you can still stay within your comfort zone and look fab. Wear with your jeans with a trendy top such as the cold shoulder one above and heels and you’re good to go.
